St Phil's Drop-In

We are excited to announce the start of a new youth ministry in Doaktown.  For detals, please see below.

Please note there are some important considerations and limitations for this program.

  1. This is an outreach ministry of the church but the focus is supporting students in their public school education. Religious questions will be answered but not asked.
  2. Youth aged 13 and up are welcome.  We are not in a position to take legal responsibility for children aged 12 and under.  There is an afterschool program offered by Macie's Happy Faces Daycare if you have need.  Tutoring is available for younger children but this must be arranged outside of this program.
  3. Student's of CNBA can be dropped off at the St Thomas United Church hall with a bus note. It is the responsibility of the parent/student to make transportation arrangements past closing.
  4. If there are any concerns about allergies, please let the leadership know.  There is no epi-pen on site at the moment.
  5. Children of this age are legally responsible for themselves and the leadership cannot be responsible for keeping a participant on-site.
  6. From time to time, the group may do an outdoor activity, such as a walk and Pokemon Go.  If this happens, a note will be placed on the door with contact info.
  7. There is a set of simple rules or guidelines posted in the hall.  If a student cannot follow these rules they will be asked to leave for the day.  If they continue to fail with these basic rules, they will not be able to particpate in the program.  The posted rules are as follows:
    1. Respect the people studying.
    2. Relax, but mind your manners.
    3. Let someone know when you leave.
    4. Clean up after yourself.
    5. Provide feedback: We can't grow if we don't know.
    6. We are all “works in progress”
be graceful, be kind, be awesome!

  8. More items may be added to this list.  If there are any questions, please reach out to Rev Brian Curtis using the contact info at the top of this page.
